A new premium houseboat, Moon of Tangua, has officially begun operations on Tanguar Haor in Sunamganj, offering visitors a luxurious and immersive travel experience. Developed by Ruposhi Bangla Tourism, the houseboat combines modern amenities, elegant design, and an eco-friendly atmosphere.
One of the directors of the project, Md. Main Uddin Faruk, described the vessel as more than just a houseboat—it is a fully equipped floating home built on water. Constructed primarily of wood, the boat features seven spacious cabins, each equipped with an attached modern bathroom, comfortable furniture, secure door locks, large beds, dressing tables, lockers, charging points, fans, and essential toiletries.
Guests can enjoy a spacious lobby, an open lounge, a rooftop dining area, a rooftop garden, a barbecue zone, a juice bar, decorative swings, and open spaces ideal for photography. The extensive use of wood throughout the houseboat helps reduce heat while maintaining harmony with the surrounding natural environment.
For entertainment, the houseboat offers carrom, chess, Ludo, football, card games, and a modern sound system. Safety measures include an adequate number of life jackets, life buoys, first-aid kits, and fire extinguishers. A team of eight trained staff members remains on board to provide round-the-clock assistance.
Two-Day, One-Night Tour
Ruposhi Bangla Tourism operates a two-day, one-night package from Sunamganj to Sunamganj. Check-in begins at 7:00 AM on the first day, and check-out is at 9:00 PM on the second day.
During the tour, guests visit several popular attractions, including Tanguar Haor, Watch Tower, Niladri Lake, Lakma Chhara, Barek Tila, Shimul Bagan, and the Jadukata River. Experienced local guides and skilled chefs accompany the entire journey.
If the water level rises significantly, the trip will begin and end from Anwarpur or Tahirpur instead. In such cases, transportation costs from Sunamganj town will be covered by the boat operator. Likewise, if low water levels or administrative restrictions prevent the boat from reaching certain destinations, alternative transportation by motorcycle or auto-rickshaw will be arranged at no additional cost to guests.
Package Price
Two-Day, One-Night Full Boat Reservation Package:
– 14–18 guests: BDT 10,000 per person
– 19–24 guests: BDT 9,000 per person
– 25 or more guests: BDT 7,500 per person
Bookings are also available for as few as two guests, with the package priced at BDT 10,000 per person. To confirm a reservation, guests must pay 50% of the total package price in advance via bank transfer, bKash, or directly at the office.

– Children up to 3 years: Free of charge
– Children aged 3–7 years: BDT 4,500 per child (sharing a room with parents)
– Children above 7 years: Full package price applies
What’s Included
The package includes accommodation in a premium all-wooden houseboat featuring seven spacious cabins, an open lounge, rooftop dining, a rooftop garden, a barbecue zone, a juice bar, more than 18 hours of electricity per day, experienced tour guides, 24-hour room service, tea, coffee, snacks, soft drinks, freshly prepared traditional meals, and guided visits to designated tourist attractions.
The two-day, one-night package also includes six main meals, four snack sessions, unlimited tea and coffee, and purified drinking water throughout the trip.
Guest Guidelines
Guests are required to submit a photocopy of their National ID card or any other valid identification before boarding. Visitors are encouraged to respect local culture and the environment, maintain cleanliness, and dispose of waste only in designated bins.
The possession or consumption of narcotics is strictly prohibited. Anyone found violating this policy will be removed from the tour, and legal action may be taken if necessary.
The boat authority reserves the right to postpone or cancel any trip due to adverse weather conditions or administrative circumstances.
