Naser Bakhtiar Elected President of Club Notredamians Bangladesh Limited Dhaka

The Executive Committee of Club Notredamians Bangladesh Limited, the alumni association of the country’s renowned educational institution Notre Dame College, has been elected for the 2026–2027 term through a democratic voting process.
The 4th to 9th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the club was held on Saturday at the Father Peixotto Banquet Hall, Banani. Following the AGM, voting took place continuously from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm in a festive and orderly atmosphere.
In the presidential election, Sheikh Abu Naser Bakhtiar Ahmed of the 1965 batch, Chairman of Agrani Bank Limited, was elected President after securing 485 direct votes. His nearest contender, Mohammad Jahirul Islam Kochi of the 1991 batch, received 145 votes.
In the election for the 10-member Executive Committee, the highest number of votes (607) was secured by Khaled Faisal Rahman Jitu of the 1993 batch. Other elected members of the Executive Committee are: Abu Saleh Mohammad Sayem (1998 batch) – 594 votes, Sheikh Aminur Rahman Chanchol (1990 batch) – 569 votes, Sheikh Munirul Alam Tipu (1985 batch) – 555 votes,
Md. Nazrul Islam Mallik (1999 batch) – 543 votes, Adnan Nafis (1996 batch) – 522 votes,
Saiful Islam (1992 batch) – 507 votes, Ariful Islam Chowdhury (1991 batch) – 498 votes,
Dr. Zobayer Hossain (2000 batch) –460 votes, and Kazi Mohammad Mahbubul Haque (1994 batch) – 429 votes.
Among the unsuccessful candidates, Shah Mohammad Maksudul Gani (1995 batch) received 395 votes, Md. Nahidul Hasan (2001 batch) received 355 votes, and Mostafizur Rahman Sujon (2004 batch) received 274 votes.
Out of a total of 867 registered voters, 650 members (approximately 75%) exercised their voting rights. A total of 20 votes in the presidential ballot and 15 votes in the Executive Committee ballot were declared invalid.
The entire election process was conducted smoothly, transparently, and impartially by a seven-member Election Commission led by the club’s founding member Md. Atikul Azam.
