Vehicular movement from Shymoli to Agargaon came to a halt following a road blockade by July uprising injured.
Around 11AM on Sunday, the injured from National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation, or NITOR and Eye Hospital took to the street and started protest demanding urgent medical treatment and rehabilitation.
Mohammad Golam Azam, OC of Sher-Bangla-Nagar Police Station, said July uprising injured patients are demonstrating in front of NITOR, blocking the whole road.
In the morning, they were found blocking the road by keeping benches, chairs and bamboo poles on both sides of the Pangu Hospital.
They, later, went to ShiShu Mela intersection, suspending vehicle movement in the Mirpur road.
Earlier on Saturday night, the injured were protesting in front of the hospital giving an allegation that no one is paying heed to their urgent treatment though they demand it.
The protesters said, “After a dictatorial movement, why do we have to protest again for demands? We were on movement for this country, for the people of the state. But we are not being evaluated. Is this what was supposed to happen?”
