On October 31, 2024, the Notre Dame University Bangladesh Drama and Film Club hosted the
enchanting Halloween Spooktacular at the NDUB Auditorium. This spine-chilling event captivated
audiences with an evening filled with spooky performances, engaging activities, and stunning displays.
The day-long program featured several stalls, including food and accessories, set up by NDUB students,
creating a festive atmosphere that attracted a large crowd. The air was filled with excitement and
anticipation as participants enjoyed the various offerings.
The event was expertly hosted by the dynamic duo, Suhana and Aditya, who established a haunting
atmosphere and maintained high energy throughout the evening, keeping the audience thoroughly
engaged. Over 300 students participated in the program, contributing to its lively spirit.
The program commenced with a welcoming speech from Father Charles Gordon CSC, the esteemed
Pro-Vice Chancellor of Notre Dame University Bangladesh. Following this, representatives from
Mastermind Education Consultancy delivered a speech expressing their support for the event.
The first highlight of the evening was a horror short film titled “Haunted 511”, written and directed by
Nicholas Dip Costa and Agnila Florence Corraya. The film featured captivating performances by Cynthia,
Inzamamul, Morshed, Abir, and Sumon Rana, immersing the audience in a spine-tingling narrative.
Next, the audience was treated to a spellbinding spooky-themed dance performed by Rohit, Ariyan,
Addison, Progga, Easha, Pricilla, and Alina. This mesmerizing performance was undoubtedly a
showstopper, leaving the audience breathless.
Another standout moment of the evening was a gripping stage drama titled “ভুত বাবা / Bhoot Baba”,
directed by Afsara Azim Limu. The talented cast, including Inzamamul, Nicholas, Addison, Zahid,
Promex, Susmita, Lamia, Ramisha, Aditi, Fariya, Mim, Bushra, and Nadia, delivered a captivating
performance that entertained and thrilled the audience.
An exciting twist to the evening was the Cosplay Competition, skillfully guided by Maria Hossain Prity,
which gave participants the chance to showcase their creativity through costumes and performance. David
Tripura stood out with his remarkable costume and performance, winning first place, while Aditi Sarker
and Payel D’Costa earned second and third prizes, respectively.
The event also featured a mesmerizing singing performance by Saad and his team, who captured the
audience’s attention with their beautiful melodies.
The final act was an audience-engaging dance by Shraboni and Nahin, who had everyone on their feet,
dancing to the spooky beats and creating a lively atmosphere.
Adding even more excitement to the evening, a Reel Competition captivated the audience with creative
and engaging entries. Farhana Azim Lamia and George Xavier Ekka dazzled their way to first place,
while Cynthia Teresa Roy delivered an impressive performance, earning the runner-up spot. The night
truly celebrated the artistic talents of all participants, making it an unforgettable experience.
The event was honored by the presence of Pro Vice Chancellor Fr. Charles Gordon, CSC; Treasurer &
Acting Proctor Fr. Adam Pereira, CSC; Deputy Proctor Stanly Pius Rozario; Student Counselor &
Director, Maintenance Fr. Edmond Cruze, CSC; Deputy Director & Student Affairs Sr. Shagorica Maria
Gomes, CSC; and Dean Alok Chakraborty. Faculties and students of all departments also joined, adding
warmth and enthusiasm to the occasion.
The Halloween Spooktacular- 2024 was an overwhelming success, enchanting the audience and leaving
them eagerly anticipating next year’s festivities. Under the visionary guidance of the Club Moderator-
Afrista Birjis, along with the dedicated leadership of current President- Maria Hossain Prity, Treasurer-
Abir Rahman, and Vice-president- Suhana Tasneem, the event flourished.
We extend heartfelt gratitude to the Advisor- Afsara Azim Limu & Orpa Valentina Sarker for their
invaluable assistance with various backstage tasks. The seamless execution of the program is a testament
to the hard work of the diligent volunteer team & all those who contributed behind the scenes to ensure
everything ran smoothly.
