As part of ongoing nationwide operations, law enforcement agencies have arrested 1,496 individuals in the past 24 hours, according to a press release from the Police Headquarters.

Of those arrested, 1,022 were wanted in connection with previous cases or had outstanding warrants against them. The remaining 474 were detained on various fresh criminal charges.

During the operations, police also seized a cache of arms and ammunition, including two foreign pistols, one LG, six rounds of bullets, two magazines, and three unspecified items.

The crackdown is part of a broader campaign to enhance public safety and bring wanted criminals to justice, authorities said.
