Water levels in rivers across Bangladesh continue to fluctuate, with 46 out of 119 monitored stations showing a rise and 62 recording a fall, according to the latest bulletin from Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC).
The bulletin, issued on Tuesday, noted that water levels at 11 river stations remained steady. Importantly, no river was flowing above the danger level anywhere in the country.
The Brahmaputra River is experiencing a gradual fall in water level, while the Jamuna remains steady. Over the next five days, both rivers are expected to continue flowing below danger levels.
The Ganges and Padma rivers are also holding steady. Projections indicate that the Ganges will remain stable over the next five days, while the Padma may hold its current level for two days before beginning to recede in the following three days.
In the north-eastern region, the Surma River is showing a rising trend, while the Kushiyara River remains unchanged.
Forecasts suggest that both rivers will remain steady for the next two days and could start to rise afterward, although they are expected to stay below the danger level throughout.
FFWC continues to monitor river conditions closely as part of its nationwide flood preparedness and early warning system.
