Dhaka University (DU) has launched its M.Phil. programme applications for 2025-26, offering research opportunities across various departments with a 30 June deadline for submissions.
Prospective students must secure faculty supervision before applying, with application forms available on the university website until 30 June 2025.
The process requires a Tk 1000 application fee deposited at Janata Bank’s TSC (Teacher-Student Center) Branch by the same deadline.
Applicants need minimum Second Division/Class grades and GPA/CGPA of 3.50 on a 5.00 scale or 3.00 on a 4.00 scale.
Special consideration applies to candidates with disabilities, indigenous backgrounds, or third gender status, who require GPA/CGPA 3.00 (5.00 scale) or 2.50 (4.00 scale).
Graduates from public universities, UGC-approved private institutions and foreign universities may apply directly.
However, private and foreign university graduates must obtain equivalency certificates from Equivalence Committee Convener (Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, adjacent to Mukarram Hussain Khundker Biggyan Bhaban) before submission.
Essential documentation includes original bank deposit slips, academic certificates, passport photographs, supervisor attestation and research synopses. In-service candidates must secure one-year official leave approval, though DU faculty members need only university permission.
The application package must reach respective Department Chairs or Institute Directors by 30 June 2025. Academic Councils may relax requirements for higher education or research institution employees based on departmental recommendations.
Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, Acting Director of Public Relations, confirmed these arrangements for the upcoming academic session.
