Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has reaffirmed the interim government’s commitment to strengthening the nation and ensuring that the full benefits of independence reach the people.

In a message marking Independence and National Day, he stated that the government is dedicated to good governance, justice, and sustainable development, with a focus on transparency and accountability across all state institutions.

Dr. Yunus emphasized that this day serves as a reminder of the nation’s hard-fought freedom, urging citizens to work together for peace, progress, and prosperity while upholding the ideals of the Liberation War.

Extending his heartfelt greetings to Bangladeshis both at home and abroad, he reflected on the nation’s journey to independence, calling it the culmination of a long struggle for dignity, rights, and sovereignty.

He paid tribute to the martyrs of 1971, acknowledging their sacrifices that paved the way for an independent Bangladesh.

For over a decade and a half, he noted, the people had been deprived of their fundamental rights due to dictatorial rule. However, he praised the mass uprising of students, workers, and the general public, which he said had ended tyranny and restored the people’s freedom.

Dr. Yunus called upon the nation to remain united in building a just, democratic, and prosperous Bangladesh, ensuring that the dreams of those who fought for independence are fully realized.
