Saraswati Puja, one of the most significant religious festivals of the Hindu community, will be observed across Bangladesh on Monday.

The festival, which falls on the fifth day of the bright fortnight of the Bengali month of Magh, marks the birth of Goddess Saraswati, the deity of wisdom, learning, and the arts. This auspicious day is also known as Vasant Panchami.

Hindu devotees, particularly students, will honor the occasion with special prayers and offerings in temples and educational institutions throughout the country. The festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm, as devotees seek the blessings of Goddess Saraswati for wisdom and knowledge.

On this occasion, President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Chief Adviser to the interim government Prof. Muhammad Yunus have extended their greetings to the Hindu community in separate messages.

President Shahabuddin emphasized Bangladesh s rich tradition of communal harmony, stating, “Our country has a glorious and ancient heritage where people have practiced their respective religious beliefs with mutual respect and coexistence. To uphold this tradition, every citizen must contribute from their own position. We must use our knowledge to promote peace, equality, and the welfare of humanity.”

He also expressed hope that collective efforts would help build a progressive Bangladesh rooted in knowledge and harmony, free from discrimination.

Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus reflected on the nation’s recent political developments, mentioning the formation of an interim government through a mass movement led by students and workers. He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring equal rights for all, regardless of religion, caste, or community.

“On this special occasion of worshiping Goddess Saraswati, I encourage all members of the Hindu community to dedicate themselves to the pursuit of knowledge and contribute to the nation s development and progress,” he stated.

As part of the celebrations, temples and educational institutions will be adorned with colorful decorations, and devotees will offer prayers, flowers, and sweets to seek the Goddess s blessings for wisdom, learning, and prosperity.
